i just bought an aftermarket shift **** because i got tired of the stock one, but i cant seem to get the stock one to break loose. Does it just twist off or is there a bolt in the middle of it under the top gear pattern or something? i feel retarded

mine just screws on..... My shifter needs new bushings because it wobbles like crazy and it wobble my shift **** lose. you should just be able to sit in the drivers side and turn it towards your left and get it to come free.

Look under that **** you will notice that there is a shinny chrome thing this is used to hold the **** tight just like double nuting a stud to remove it. It is shaped with one side all round and the other Has two flat sides. What you have to do is turn just the chrome thing like you are tightining it you can use a I think 21 or 22 mm wrench or vise grips but i would use a wrench so you wont dig in to the metal and screw the chrome thing up. So turn it down a little and then try to turn the ****. Well thats how i did it atleast
