Stupid people

Why is it that in the past weekend I've run into two supposed "RX-7 experts" who swore up and down that TurboII's came twin turbo? Their reasoning? That's what the 2 in Turbo2 is for. And they wouldn't back off until I finally told them I would pop my hood and show them my one turbo. Grrr.

Just calmly point out that in there was a RX-7 Turbo. It was in the first gens. The TurboII comes from it being the second generation RX-7 turbo. Yes, i've heard this before alot too.

BTW:
12AT=RX-7 Turbo
13BT=RX-7 TurboII

That is there reasoning, the "2" in turbo2. I thought the same thing at one point in time. Not that I consider myself an "expert" but we weren't born knowing everything. You should feel honored to enlighten those who are in the dark. I didn't know the original turbo was a 12A Jspec that wasn't sold in the US.

Also, the 12AT never made it to the states by design. There have been a few imported however.

I found one here in Alberta! The body kit on it was nice (looked like a factory body kit for the 12A turbos? )

But our club organizer has a custom supercharged 1st gen now too....talk about fast!

lol, I didn't even know there was a 12AT - I just thought Mazda decieded to just have it say Turbo2. That's pretty cool though - you learn something new everyday
