bah, you guys are to negative i like the newer look. well anways i was thinking about maybe modifying the fogs by cutting out the front of it and making them clear but i think that might be two bright. but they also very dirty and i think i should try and clean them first. they are plastic right?

Unlike some newer lighting systems, the front semi clear panels in the factory fog lights are the actual defusers. If you were to remove them, you would loose any ability of the fog light to throw controlled light.

And your best bet if you want the fog the same color as the headlight is to only use the same exact brand of H3C bulb that you are using as a H4 bulb in the headlights.

Different brands will have a different color temperature no matter how much they might look the same when not lit.

i noticed on the fog light that it had little waves on the inside to blur out the light or just to make it defuse more.

They are actually to spread the light into a Japanese/ Chinese hand fan type shape.

You could only cut the fronts out if the waves/cuts/angles were on the reflectors.

Yeah I had a real hard time matching the bulbs on my truck. I had the 5000K 100/90 watt fiberglass insulator H4 bulbs for the head lights, but trying to match that to a simular color 5000K H3 for the fog lights was next to impossible.

I ended up going with one of the H4/H3 4 bulb combo sets that I found on Ebay.

You might get lucky and find the same manufactures bulbs for the H3 fogs as you have for the H4 in your headlights, but its just been my experience that its is almost impossible.

Yeah, I was just trying to point out that the only way the color is going to match is to make sure the bulbs in both the head lights and the fog lights come from the same company.

Yeah, you're right.  I like to keep people from getting stupid tickets, but I digress.  I should let people just get hassled by cops and get unnecessary tickets...

LOL, I know what you mean.

You can only tell them that it is illegal... sorta like you can only take a horse to water and can't make it drink.

Try replacing your stock fog lamp housing's and replacing them with a set of aftermarket housings with either a clear or blue lens. Then for about $60.00 you can buy an aftermarket set of headlight housings that are diamond cut for more light output. (And a cooler look) As far as bulbs yes the blue are illegal if they are really blue but a mild blue might work. Try Piaa platinum super white h4 for your headlights and h3 for your fog lights. These bulbs are light purple and give a light purpleish light that looks really good and you can see ten times more and farther down the road. I have this same set up on my 88 gtu and I like it. Another thing you can do for a diffrent look is take out the pink 30 amp square fuse in the fuse box under the hood by the battery. It is the first fuse. (closest to the fender) This will allow you to turn on your headlight's without them going up and they will shine through your flash too pass lenses. I have taken these lenses out for brightness. It does not put out as much light but does look good with matching fog lights. (Dont get me wrong you can still see ok) If I can get this thing to take my pics I will post one. Does anyone know how I can make my pics smaller so It will post them?
