stuck spare
My friend bought a wrecked TII to swap the parts into his N/A. The car was rear ended pretty hard, so the spare is wedged in pretty good.
Anyone have ideas on how to get it out WITHOUT damaging it? The tire and rim are still perfect (we'll have the rim checked out more closely when we get it out), so we just want to get it out intact.

If you don't mind looking like a retard, you could use a grinder to cut away from below the steel 'pocket' that the tire sits in. I'd suggest a grinder because then you can hopefully minimize the penetration into the cavity, and you won't have to worry about destroying the rubber with a cutting torch...
Just an idea.

Just take a crow bar and pry the metal (surrounding the spare tire) back. You're not going to hurt the spare tire. All wheels are made somewhat tough. So, you really can't hurt it w/ a simple crow bar. Use a hammer if you have to bang out the trunk area.
You don't have to be that delicate w/ this area of the car. It is not surgery. The whole trunk area is all metal.

Want to hear something funny. I bought my car about 6 or so months ago. Its an 87 gxl w/ 5 lug wheels. About 2 weeks ago i go to pump up all of my tires. When I go to take out the spare, i'm like, what the hell!. The spare is a 4-lugger. How gay.
