Stubborn UIM, Tricks?
I have everything removed on my 87 t2... All connectors, vacuum hoses on the front are removed, nut on the intercooler bracket, long bolt on uim, and all the nuts surrounding the uim. The only things I don't have disconnected is the cruise control cable, and hoses on the back of the uim. Still, that shouldn't have anything to do with not being able to remove the uim.
What are the tricks you guys have used? Mine is stuck like a bitch, hasn't even bugged. I've used a bar on the hook behind the uim, with no luck. I've got my cousin to pull up on the bac while I pull up on the throttle body side. It just won't go.

I've got all that stuff though. I mean i'm yanking so hard the motor is going with it, and just not even a slight budge of movement from the mani. Getting very very frustrated. I tried for atleast an hour today.

I've thought about wedging something inbetween but afraid a fragment of the gasket would fall in the lower intake, with my luck. I will try giving the side a good hit, I was about to do that to but didn't want to crack it or anything.
If you've got a top mount, did you loosen the nut on the compression tube? It clamps down onto the intercooler mount / engine hook. Go over it all again before you start prying. I remember one time I was yanking and prying like crazy on a UIM, only to find that I'd forgotten to remove the long bolt that runs up the middle

.I've gone over it countless times man, getting very pissed off that it's not coming off.

Somthing has to be wrong. If you are lifting so hard the engine is moving you have to have missed something. Unless the gasket is gorilla glued on there no way could it handle that! Hell even with the hose underneith (my first time pita) it will at least break free of the gasket.

Yea its definetly way easier with the hammer on the tb side. I first tried it on the manifold and nothing was happening. So I was like hey the tb isn't resting on anything so this should be a pita.
