Struts Question
Well I am getting pretty pissed off at my car.
First it starts running 18.2's and now this.
Well, I've gone to 3 shops so far.Every single one says they can install 2 new front struts in my car. Either my Koni Adjustables or Stock ones.
I then take my car down to them and then a half hour later they call and tell me they can't install 'em.
They say they would have to weld on new somethings and cut stuff.
The price that they are quoting me is around 800+ for Koni or Stock.
I have a 88 SE and there's no way I am spending that much on it.
Do all of our cars have to have this done or is it just my piece of ****?

I've got some Tokico 5-way adjustable struts with some RB 1" lowering springs and RB front and rear stabilizer bars, and I didn't have any problem putting them on myself. Of course, the springs were already mounted on the struts, which made it extremely easy. I don't know what the problem could be. I own a 91' NA FC.

If they have to weld or cut don't let them do it. You either have the wrong struts or the shop mechanics are extremely incompetent. They should only need a spring compressor as the rest of the install is all nuts and bolts.

Haven't we ALL heard this
If you install the Koni yellows in your 7 in the front you DO HAVE TO CUT. Welding is not in the directions and might be something to scare you away cause they are lazy.
The fronts are cartridges basicly. You will cut the top off of your stock struts. Remove the guts and then drop in the new ones.

I like the stuts a lot. You have infite adjustments. Not five clicks.
