what do you use your car for? have done a search for "struts" "suspension" ? if you race, autoX, drag, etc you will require different suspension setups for each. you might be better off searching around a bit and then bring up this thread again with some more information from your side.

hope that helps a little,
TR

basically what im looking for is a good set to drift with. i dont have money for coilovers so thats out. but i also want to be able to retain some ride quality. i live in missouri and we have the worst roads in the states, im sure of it. i wanna go with an adjustable type for sure. i just dont know what to choose.

oh yes i have, iv been to almost every state except for the new england states. ive never driven on roads worse than missouri. the contractors they get to fix the streets are terrible. they leave big holes and the asphalt or concrete had to be laid again 6 months down the road. trust me, its really bad. but anyway, back on topic. see i just dont know the strengths and weaknesses of each brand, or even the best bang for the buck. and whay are some called struts and some called shocks?

A shock abosorber is JUST a shock. a Strut is a combination design of a shock absorber with a coil with upper / lower Seats to keep the Spring in. basically Damper +spring in one piece.

Drifting suspension choice is all up to your personal feedback. alot of things are good depending on skill lvl. Go too stiff with low skill = very hard to drive n etc. Its preference.

i'd get LSD or make sure LSD is working properly / good b4 getting dampers. LSD changes everything.

Upgrade from stock: Tokico blues <$300

Adjustable best bang for the buck: KYB AGX's <$450

Best consumer level (IMO): Koni yellow sport <$550 (retrofit fronts)

Everything else more expensive gets into the realm of coilover kits.

For drift, you need the suspension to be on the stiff side, IMO.
If it's too soft, you get too much chassis roll and give, which screw you up.
This is the opposite of what you want as a comfortable ride on the street.
It's hard to compromise for both.
