Whatever is bolted or welded on that isn't part of the go system, the stop system, or the turn system. Whatever the rules allow, if it's just along for the ride lose it!

so its going to be a field car?

I know what you can take out of it.......the ownership....and sign the back...Ive got a 100 bucks for ya.....lol

If you are going to just beat the **** out of it off road don't waste your time taking things off of it - just go out and destroy it!!!........thats what will happen in the end regardless of whether or not it goes through weight reduction first

i think you are getting the wrong idea. i dont want to take it out and beat the **** out of it i would like to make it a car to go off road, not like trash it out but make it to where it would be fun to tke on an off road trail.

I think that in order to have fun in an offroad vehicle........trashing it becomes a pre-requisite.........

I say why would you want to make an FC into an offroad vehicle anyways? I mean if you were to pick the least likely vehicles to be made for offroad.....the FC would probably be right near the top. If you are truly interested in making an offroad car that is fun to take offroad - buy an older Subaru Legacy like an early 90's its cheap(compared to new ones) AWD an sits higher than the FC

Are you thinking of caging the car? Those unibodies are very weak. I dont think the car will take well to a higher center of gravity or just plain old bumps.

the reason i am choosing to make it into an ofroad car is because it is already in really crapy condition any ways. it isnt woth the money to even try to restore it. so i though it would be more fun to make it something cool then just let it sit out in the back of the lot rotting away.

I've actually seen a short video of a 3-rotor second gen rallying. No idea where to find it again, though.

get some dry ice and freeze off the black tar sound damper. put some in a doubled up plastic grocery bag and crush alittle, place it over the tar and let it sit for a minute or two, then hit it, the tar stuff, with a hard rubber hammer and it will come right off. use two or three bags for this process to save time moving around the car

My friend did this, he cut the legacy's fenders, put in a roll. He drove to work though the woods everyday to get to work. lol

You put in a doubled up bag then place the bag of somewhat crushed up dry ice on the tar stuff.
