Stripped Transmission Mount Bolt

Transmission mounting bolt spins in the hole.

I think that cutting into some sheet metal from the inside is in order...
The other passenger-side bolt partially stripped also so I will need to get two nuts in there.

Anyone else have this issue and solved it?

I tried searching and didn't come up with anything. If you have a link to share, please do.
Thanks in advance.

you could try a thread chaser... if that doesn't work, you could try tapping it out to the next larger size

Helicoil, a ten minute fix that takes you back to original.

Are you trying to remove that bolt, or install it?

You need to pry on the mount as you spin the bolt. A drill or air wrench will make this much easier.

+2, ive had to do this twice in exactly the same location. I think that steel in those weld nuts is soft or something...

I've had to do this on my car and wasn't fun, I didn't run into any issues though.

What I did when I put them back in is I put them in loosely enough so it could move around enough to line up with where it needed to be , however the metal mount that is bolted to the transmission itself with two bolts and stud coming down was much more of a pain, I'm sure there's an easier waay then how I did it.

Remove the last one.

I don't know if the threads stripped or if the nut spun...

Thank you everyone. I think that I am going to grind the head off of the last bolt and see where that gets me.

I will then have to come from the inside, probably with a hole-saw, to remove what is left of the bolt.
I feel like if I cut a hole, then I may as well replace the nuts that are in there.

If you go straight down from the top two screw drivers and straight forward of the rear one, it appears that you intersect the transmission mount.
