is streetporting reasonable, using stock ECU???

i was wondering if i could perform a streetporting and wouldn't run into idling and slight load troubles!!
since i will use my stock S5 ECU, i'll not be able to tune such dissonaces!

any opinions?

N/A or TII?

I'm on a stock ECU for my N/A and have no problems (they run rich anyways).

would be S5 TII, with BNR stage II!

was just wondering if it would be a gain in hp combined with good driveability!

I had no problems. Add a FCD to it. You may want to go with a EBC so you can have quicker spool with the BNR.

Oh yeah, port the waistgate.

no problem! SAFC II is already installed, A/F gauge will be ordered soon

which boost corntroller would you recommend?

so there's no issues in idling and slight load driving with a streetport??

i just am trying to save you money and headache.

a narrowband is mainly used for tuning at cruising speeds(ie highway) where little load the engine can run stoich without any issues. if you try running the engine under a hard load(boost/supercharger applications) then tuning with a narrowband(Air/fuel gauge) will net you a blown motor.

narrowband is a preset gauge for stoich conditions which are: 14.7:1 air/fuel

wideband has a range generally anwhere from: 9.0:1- 25:1 air/fuel

inducted engine generally require around an 11:1 air/fuel mixture under hard loads to combat detonation(the engine killer) which a narrowband(air/fuel gauge) will not give you any information about that range.

$300 for a wideband is a good investment vs a $1500+ rebuild.

personally i think narrowband gauges are a complete waste of time, they just add to the bling factor for filling holes in gauge pods.

Yesss it will be wideband!

by the way, i did some comparisons to the housings of the to engines: 13bt (S5) and 13b-rew (S6)
i think a general misconception was, that rew intake ports are larger... this is wrong! S5 TII intake PORTS (not runners) are identical to the rew ones! also S5 13bt rear housing is already reinforced where the oil filter mounts! rew has different stationary gear bearings and a different oil pump, and metering pump. rew has this little water passage at the ingnition side of the rotor housings. rew has some bigger intake RUNNERS which also are located higher up to space the twin turbo. the rest is basically the same!!

that was just FYI...

back to the topic, can't anybody tell me about idling with ported intake???

LOL

BTW, Idle will be just fine with a streetport. Good luck.
