strange smoking

ok this is not a normal smoking problem that i can tell. first of all if I run 20w50 it smokes ALOT(blueish) it can fog out a intersetion (kind of fun sometime) . also after warming up if it idles at around 1500 it begins to smoke even w/ 10w40. when i run 10w40 (which is what i run from now on) it doesn't smoke quite as easy i'm sure i need to rebuild soon w/ 260k + miles but i would like to know what the problem is.
any help would be appreciated thx

Oil seal are most likely shot. Is that 260k on the original engine? S4 or S5?

if it is a turbo car then it can also be the seal on the compressor side of the turbo i have the same problem my motor has 36k on it and it does the same thing. the turbo will suck oil past the seal. best way to check is take off the intercooler and see if there is any oil in it. if there is then its sucking oil into the intake. i also run 20w50
