Strange hot no start issue

If I run the car to operating temperature, turn it off, then let it sit for around 20 mins, then try to start it again-it won't start.
I've had flooding issues in the past on a previous engine, so I tried removing the egi fuse and cranking it for 15 secs or so, then putting it back in and cranking it normally, but that doesn't work.
Also, when I crank it, it seems like it wants to start and almost fires, but not enough to start it (sorry-hard to describe).

For those of you with more experience than me, does this sound like a flooding issue?

It just started happening around 4 days ago. This is a new rebuild with around 950 miles on it.

Could it possibly be a bad fuel pressure regulator?

The FPR and intake temp sensor (not the one inside the AFM) are also some things used when starting a hot engine.

AIT?
I have noticed a couple occasions where that connector just seems to "NOT be on there"..like a solid connection. It just seems to be a picky thing.
As Satch mentioned it,I would just check for bad connection there.

AIT looks fine, but in my ongoing quest to make this car reliable, I'll pick up a new one from Atkins.

Tx for the info!
