Damn! I got a light to tell when to shift on my 'vert and one that tells me to brake.... now I have a light to tell me when to stop too! All I need is a light to tell me when to go!

Yeah I would guess you have a bulb out somewhere.

I think it only works in my Vert if I'm driving/shfiting normal. Getting on the gas seems to keep it from doing its normal thingy. I think they're suppose to work like that. I rarely drive mine normal so... I never paid much attention to it anyway.

I gues my car only likes me to shift when Im at 25-50% throttle, otherwise I never see the shift up light. Though i do still have the buzzer near redline

bulb failure is very common for this light. i recently pulled my cluster and updated the 158(which are 2 candle power) to the 194(which are also 2 candle power)bulbs and the cluster is back to its original form.

Would this be the "SHIFT UP" Yellow light behind the steering wheel?

If so, I know mine works but I never pay any attention to it. When does it light up anyway? At redline? Right before?

I'm assuming that's what he's talking about.

Yay for Icemark...

It will not come on to tell you to shift at or near redline. It is a tool for getting the best fuel economy.

if the light is never coming on, either the bulb is bad, the connections to the back of the cluster are bad or the neutral safety wire is grounded or the 5th gear (over the top) switch is grounded.

Had the same problem on my 300ZX-brake tail light warning comes on with no tails out. There was a sensor box in the hatch that controlled this that was bad.

Not sure if the RX has the same type of setup.
