if you were cutting off the filler neck to weld on angled necks for a v-mount why didnt you just weld the hole shut instead of using JB weld?

they make little filler sticks for holes in gas tanks, maybe they make one for rads?

I have used it. Not in an Rx7. In a Camry that had a very difficult to get to freeze plug leaking. it worked but made a nasty mess of the cooling system. Would gum up the radiator cap and cause it to stop working properly. Took I don't know how many flushes to get all that crap out of the system. As others have said I wouldn't use it in a rotary. I won't use it in anything else if I can avoid it.

Why can't you get the guy who welded the hose necks on to weld up the hole? Even if he had to cut that row and weld the ends shut in the long run it would be better than putting that nasty stuff in there. You've got a week still. They should be able to fix it in less than a day. Drop the rad off then pick it up when they are done. You just need to come up with the money.

I'm guessing he didn't discover he cut the core till he filled it up. Otherwise it would have made the most sense to weld the hole when he got the necks welded as you suggest.

The guy that welded it took almost 2 months to weld it in the first place and said he couldn't fix that hole. I wouldn't take anything back to him to get welded! And I took the car out today and beat the **** out of it! It stays nice and cool! And the leak has slowed down to almost a seep. I geuss the Jb weld must b fully set now or something idk.

Using stop leak was seriously one of the worst mistakes I have ever made in my life. When taking the engine apart later it ended up causing many extra hours of me trying to clean cement type sludge from the coolant pathways. I still get little bits coming out from the radiator into the overflow tank and I cleaned every possible spot as much as could be, but places in the radiator just could not be flushed entirely. I still think the radiator may be partially blocked up because of that ****. I will not even touch it. I dont even like being in the same store as that ****. I had a cavalier that it bought me a couple of months on, but that car was not being saved, it was going to be sold and taken to the junk yard in a few months.

Just wait until you start "drifting"and that jb weld is gonna fly off and with the car been under load and the cooling sistem under pressure is gonna push out the antifreeze ................you will overheat and destroy a perfectly running motor for not doing things correctly.

Nah. The Jb weld is filling that chunk of the core. It isn't going anywhere.
