Stock Exhaust size???

Ive searched and found nothing. Im getting straight pipes made to exit the rear in a dual setup. And yes i know all the ups and downs of them and i dont very much care because i like them and how they sound. What i need to know is the diameter of pipe that makes up the stock y pipe? I need to know because im keeping stock mufflers for when i need it quiet so we are making a slip on and off setup so i need some band clamps and need to know what size to get.

It would be kinda tough because they are all wrapped up in heat shielding. I would imagine its 2 inch or maybe even less.

i have a feeling its 2 inch. My y-pipe doesnt have any headsheild on it. It just has the heat shield on the body

still need a definite clarification. If anyone has a parts car with the mufflers off please measure it for me. All you need to do is measure the size across the pipe

The stock diameter of precats and the main cat is 2.25", which means the y-pipe inlet will have to be 2.25" as well. As for the 2 tubes that make up the "Y" section, I can't say for sure, but it should be 2" stock.

If you're having something custom made, go underneath your car and measure the diameter of the muffler inlets. That'll tell you exactly what tubing diameter you need to mate up properly.

im pretty sure too. Im gonna measure tonite before i order the band clamps so that im 100% sure. The tubing im not worried about because the shop is going to adapt it to the tips we picked out that are 2.25 in and 3.5 out. The bulk of the cost is the tips. The whole job is going to be $150 ish and tips are $45 each alone. Plus he is going to add pipe to the stock mufflers so they can be clamped back on if ever need be.

not looking to make too much more and i went the way i am because the cat is gutted and from what ive read it will keep the velocity of the exhaust gas up. My stock y-pipe looks almost new and is apparently from a TII since it is 2.5 inch.

Get a test pipe. A gutted cat usually causes enough turbulence to cancel out any gains or even decrease power.

My NA exhaust just broke at the flange between the Y and the Cat. Cat pipe (may not be stock) was 2 5/8" OD while the pipe just before the Y was 2 1/4" OD.
