Stereo Dash kit

Is there a dash kit out there that doesn't fit like crap? I bought the scosche kit and the gaps in the kit are ridiculous. What are you guys using? Any good results?

Custom or kept the stock radio. It's kind of odd, but the more FCs I work on and see the interior, the more different kind of parts are used; so most I see are all one big erector set in the end...

The kit from Metra Electronics fits like a glove.

Can you post a link to the one you're referring to? I saw about 2 or 3 from metra for our cars.

*EDIT: Is it this one?

When mounting, were you guys able to mount your stereos through the front of the dash kit or did you have to go through the back?

I'm guessing that kit has to be trimmed out?

You trim the center out. Those two pieces in the center of the kit to the left and right are for shaft radios. The instructions will have an illustration on how to do that.

You take the dash apart to screw in the kit where the factory mounting points are. You push dash back together and slide the DIN cage in and bend the tabs to catch the kit and hold it in. The radio then slides into the DIN cage.

id suggest installing the cage and bending tabs BEFORE mounting the kit. easier to get to
