steering wheel problem...

steering wheel problem...

my steering wheel seemed got a problem...
it turns very easily if i hit gas... but at less than 1000rpm, all of sudden it becomes so hard to turn...
what is wrong with it?? and how to fix???

It's your power steering pump. It doesn't sound like you're having a leak anywhere so I'm guessing the pump might be on its last leg. Good luck!

My steering has the same exact problem. I have a good size leak though. If I use power steering fluid I have to add it every day or 2. I now just use Lucas brand power sterring leak fix. Doesn't actually fix it, but lasts a whole lot longer. See if you have some leak, I doubt it though cuz you know when you are low.
