ive got a 86 and im putting small block ford in it. just hooked up my steering rack up, its a 3 hole and plumbed it like the pic below (plugged the left, feed to bottom right, return top right), this is common every one do it this way. The problem is when i filled it up with fluid it just turns the wheels to full lock and then the pump stalls the motor out. any ideas, did i plumb something wrong, it almost seems like the valve inside is stuck or something. any ideas throw them out there
Don't have a idea unless something is plugged and not flowing... looks plumped right for a 2 port rack as you have the bottom middle port as pressure and left bypass port plugged and the right port as return....just out of curiosity what fitting did you use on the bottom middle pressure port? Any M12x1.25 adaptor fitting I have found doesn't have enough length and only covers 2 full turns on the rack ...the banjo bolt is quite a bit longer. On the JDM rack the pressure port is a M16x1.5 just like the return port...it's a bitch to find fittings in that odd size of m12x1.25.
