steering rack and pinion help

hey guys my steering rack and pinion just busted on me. so i bought one off craigslist thinking it was the same fitment guess i was wrong. I paid $40.00 bucks so its not that bad of a lost i figure. So then i go buy one online for $300.00 and the one they send me looks like the exact one i bought off craigslist wtf??? i have a 1988 10th anniversary rx7. whats going on here.. its like this the new one has three outlets fitments were fluid runs threw. the one on the car only has two fitments outlets help me please.

You have an s5 rpm sensing rack, and that's what you need to replace it with. Look it up in the computer as an 89+ so that you get the right rack. The three port is a speed sensing system for the s4 cars.

please can you elaborate more on why i need the one with the 3 ports. what do i even plug into the third port?? help me please so do i have the correct one in you opinion /:scra tch:

You have one power steering system versus the other. Its quite simple... you cannot simply plug one of the ports and expect it to work. The three port system has two pressure lines and a return line. The twin port is only one pressure line and a return.
