Starting problem??

Ok, after my car caught on fire, I began replacing all of the burnt hoses and everything, used a banjo bolt to replace the P.D., and made sure that none of the wiring harness was affected. Now, when I try to start the car, for some reason, the engine turns over really slow as if the battery were almost dead. However, I had the battery and the starter checked and they're both good. Does anyone know what could be the problem?

How much have you driven it around since the fire? Perhaps on of the wires going to the alternator were fried and as a consequence the battery is low now. Check the charge on the battery.

I just recharged the battery. However, before I recharged the battery, my tester said: "Good battery, low charge." so I thought ok. so I still charged the battery. It didnt make any difference. also, the whole time since the fire, the battery was unplugged, just sitting there in the car... I am not sure what I problem is... I tried jumping it w/ the recharged battery. even still it didnt work... is it possible that my engine could be partially seized? If so, what can rectify it...

What are you talkin about you idiot? It was a small fire that didnt even spread past the primary fuel rail area because I put it out as soon as I smelled it. The fire happened while I was warming the car up. It didnt even melt the OMP lines. I doubt it would have any effect on the engine. So, can someone with some info please help me w/ my problem... but if your just gonna make jokes and ****, dont bother.

a. check battery clamps fro corrosion
b.Check ground leads pull them off check for corrosion
c. check battery with a load tester (not volt meter!) to see if its got bad cells
d. check voltage at starter while cranking (with voltmeter)(looking for voltage drops for any reason) (requires help)
e. check starter brushes for wear
d. flame idiots that are smartasses

these are a good start, but not all of the possibilities

I am having a similar issue, but my car won't even turn over. I checked all grounds and wires adn fuses, even starter, and I found some info somewhere that soid something about a fusible link from the starter to the alternator that might be fried could cause problems like that. I am trying to do more research on that, but I hope that tid bit of info helps. I feel your pain my 7 is still down and being a pain in the a$$.

can you please give a specific list of all systems that were damaged/need to be replaced?

remember, wire is metal and metal conducts.
your harness may be toast, as it is very easy for harness to melt and wires to contact, even up to 4 feet from the original burn point.
i blew a headlight switch on my other car, and i had to replace 3 feet of harness. no joke. even after that 3 feet i could see visible deformation and god help the new owner of that car. take the harness out of the sheath and give a quick visual inspection says me.
