Starting issues, anyone help me

Every once and awhile, ususally when cold or damp, my car will kinda sputter then start on original start up, then i cant get it started and it acts like it stalls
also once an awhile when its hot and i stop and go into a store or something and come out in a bit, it gives me a little trouble starting. also it smokes occasionally at start up, other times not. and sometimes when its hot it'll smoke for a bit. now i have an issue, where i cant get it started at all. i did notice that my oil metering pump rod was stuck about half way, it was caught on a metal clamp for some wiring. could it be an issue that there is no oil on my rotors? that the comp. thinks the pumps bad or something? any ideas, please help

It's probably flooding. In the engine bay, near the driver's side suspension tower is a box with a row of fuses. Pull the two closest to the engine and crank the car for about 30 seconds. It won't start. Put the fuses back in and try it. Repeat if necessary. If that doesn't work, do a search for atf treatment for a flooded engine.

Don't crank your starter for more than 10-15 seconds unless you're trying to burn it out.

Smell that smoke. You'll be able to tell if it reeks of gas, in which case it's definitely flooding. You can install a switch to help cope with this 'condition' that some 7s have.

Some owners have reported that getting their fuel injectors professionally cleaned and balanced ended their flooding problems. It might work for you, too.

The OMP rod's being stuck shouldn't have any direct bearing on your starting prob. Make sure that from now on nothing interferes with its path of travel - you don't want your rotors to be inadequately lubricated. Hopefully no harm has been done.

Btw, your first sentence is kind of hard to decode...

When she floods all that gas 'washes' the oil off the rotors. You won't have any decent compression and so she won't start. That's where the ATF trick comes in.

Your motor is constantly putting oil to the rotors, including with the OMP. But all that excess gas washes it away.
