well first have you verified that its hooked up properly? the wires havent come loose or anything?
then if youve done this pull it off and take it to the parts store to have them test it. most likeliy its bad. then you got three options, rebuild it, buy a new one, or buy one off of this forum.

NO offence intended,but it sounds like you are going at things Half assed and then Wondering why they don't work.
That is the way that you can screw stuff up.Permanently.
Do a little research on what you intend to do before attempting your modifications.
