Starion Conquest Intercooler I see these on ebay going for over 200. $ why is it going for that much it is used and what makes it so good for a rx7

 

Never heard of this one.... bu then again I didnt have a turbo car so I kinda ignored the turbo stuff before now.

Id like to know cause I know where there are a coupe conquest/starions in junk yards around here.

 

I believe that the starion/conquest intercooler is the largest stock IC made. They are popular because they are relatively cheap compared to the aftermarket ones, they are large, and they will fit with minor modifications.

 

I thought those conquest IC were junk. I've heard a bunch of people saying they dont work good but I have no real experiance with them. Isnt the Izuzu the best unkyard IC you can get.

I also heard that the starions were crap. If you want a good cheap front mount, go with an NPR (isuzu).

 

i beg to differ as someone has a 400 horsepowered rx7 with a starion intercooler.
anything has to be better than the zhitty tmic that mazda designed

 

how much cutting is there involved with installing a starion FMIC on an FC?

 

The NPR looks PERFECT after it's cut down a bit.

Heck, 400hp has probably been made with the stock intercooler. Does that mean it's good like the Starion one? I know some very low et's have been ran with stock TII intercoolers, on street-weight vehicles.
