Stalling at idle issue

I just recently bought an 87 NA gxl and I’m having issues with it stalling at idle, I’ll start it up and then it will just die out after running rough . If I give it a little gas for about 20-30 seconds it will idle at 1500 rpm , I’m new to rotary engines and I’m not too sure what the issue is

well I'm having a similar problem and I've narrowed it down to vacuum leaks. you can get a hand vacuum pump for like $20 and check a lot of systems. I also had to get a smoke machine to find some of the weirder leaks. If yours still starts a bit its probably not as bad as mine. the brake booster can be a common cause of a large leak, or anything like a cracked vacuum line or leaky gasket.
