CA will not idle below at 1100 rpm

I have a 1986 fc na base model: okay my question is that when i start it cold and run it the idle wont drop below 1100 rpm, even after i give it plenty of time to warm up completely. But when i park and start up again a few minutes later the idle returns to normal. Is it somehow staying in like warm up mode, and it does not idle weird just a little high cuz the idle when warm always stays at 900 when idleling normal. Should i try and adjust the idle a bit lower or what would you guys recommend to do??? Any feedback is greatly appreciated..

Are you using 87 fuel? I tried 94 once and it did the same thing till I refilled with 87. I would just turn my head lights on and it would settle around 850.

no always same place 87 octane, but i think i finally solved the problem....
all that it was is that the cap for the reservoir bottle was not closed correctly, or at least when i was taking a look at it was the only thing that i found not right. for some reason it got loose, cant believe that stupid cap did such a big difference
