Spoiler: to be or not to be
My spoiler is a cracked and I am trying to decide what on earth to do with it. If I get a new one, then I have to have it painted and it won't match. If I repair it, then it is prone to breaking again and will show repair defects.
But if I take it off then it won't quite look like a T2 any more.

I'm a huge fan of FC's w/out wings, but that's mainly the N/A cars (MAYbe the aero kit spoiler). But for the TII since it did come with the wing I think that it'd look a little strange w/out one. The wing kinda offsets the scoop on the hood of the car and balances out the look. I say get another one but keep it in the stock family or something pretty close.

If you take it off, there will be ugly holes showing, and the unfaded paint underneath the spoiler will probably not match the rest of the car. Modern paint matching methods are fairly accurate, so you should be able to paint another spoiler to match. Even if it doesn't match perfectly, it will not be as noticeable because the spoiler is a separate component. It wouldn't be like you have a spot in the middle of the hood, or anything. Mazda painted my new sunroof to match the original paint on my 88, even after being ungaraged in the Florida sun for 8 years.

I agree that the wing balances out the scoop. The 87 TII which has no spoiler makes a great, clean-looking sleeper if you install an FMIC and NA hood.

I have a naked TII. I think FCs without spoilers look great. I like spoilers too. If I were to put a spoiler on, it would be the rubber sport "lip" spoiler, or the two pedastal spoiler like the one below, found at MazdaTrix. Its shown on a convertable, but looks better on a coupe IMHO.
