Arrow Speedo fixed, REline MT-90 in the tranny

Well today after changing my oil, I also changed my Tranny fluid and replaced the gear that goes in the tranny for the speedometer. The teeth on it were pretty much gone. (Thx to all those who helped with that topic.)

I Put redline MT-90 fluid in it, but there was no change in shifts, but I now have clean fluid cus the old one was DIRTY!!!!!!.

My tranny is past the point of help for thosie grinds.

BUT now 3rd gear seem to grind more often. Is there anytign else I might be abble to add to make it go away or is there no help for it?

I got money in my Savings accnt. just in case I need a sudden trany rebuild.

ohh BTW, Yes I did fill the tranny all the way Actualy it has a tad bit more cus It was jacked up onthe side, and then when I put it down, it was slowly coming out of the fill plug, so I know that I have enough in there.

How long since the trans fluid change?&nbsp It takes at least a WEEK to really feel the difference and several weeks for the new tranny fluid to work it's way into all the nooks and crannies of your transmission...

First you need to isolate what exactly is wrong...
With the car sitting still and the engine OFF, can you shift into 3rd gear WITh the clutch without any problems?
With the car sitting still and the engine ON (idling), can you shift ino 3rd gear without any problems?
With the car sitting still and the engine OFF, can you shift into 3rd gear WITHOUT the clutch without and problems?

Yes I tried all 3 and no probs.

Well on that last one it did kinda resist at first, but Its done that in other gears before when everythign is off.

But after it went in no probs at all.

It MOSTLY grinds when down shifting, and some time when up shifitng unless I do it SLOW.

Sounds like it's synchros to me...

The 3rd one is supposed to feel like that - I was wondering if you were going to report it that way. With the engine off and no clutch, the gears try to mesh with no help from the synchros.&nbsp If you give it a little nudge, with the helical gear design, it will eventually line up.

Like any import tranny, most places will quote you $500-$900.

I believe the original poster was asking about a transmission rebuild job.&nbsp A used transmission is a totally different beast...

It took the Redline like 10000 miles before it made a difference in my car
