Specific Power steering question

So ive searched all the threads and what not, I know that since im getting rid of my PS, that I can loop the lines together to keep fluid flowing. What I couldnt find are the more specifics.

How long should I leave the lines and what can I buy to loop them together? I need to do this in the next couple days because my engine is almost ready. any help would be appreciated!

If your engine is out already, why not get a manual rack? Victoria British has them for cheep IIRC...Or you can get a used one from several sources...

Is it hard to switch over? Also, I heard that I have less turns to lock by leaving the power rack on, anyone know if thats true?

Not sure on the lock to lock question, but as for installing, it's cake if the engine is out. It's still not too bad if the engine is in, might be PITA if you have AC though.

I know how, you feel. I'm tempted also, but I'm confused about the lines as well, especially how to cap them off.
