Thumbs down Spark Plug wires crossed?

What do you guys think would happen if someone had there spark plug wire crossed from leading to trailing and trailing to leading and also on the engine block they had the spark plugs themselves in the wrong place?

Also would the engine still run? and what are the symtoms of this?

I actually saw a guy rx7 that did this and he wasn't sure why his car was acting up!

Can you believe this ****! haha I need to help him out but don't know where to start. The first thing first is I told him to remove the spark plugs and try to make sure you get it right this time and guess what...3 out of the 4 spark plugs came out easily and the forth broke inside...it looks like it too some heat and kinda molded it self to the engine. How would he get this out!

I recommended that he do an engine overhaul to get the remains of the sparkplug out if he can and while he at it to do a rebuild cuz his engine is probably dead now.

What do you guys think? Please help us out haha...Oh yea would the crossing of the wires cause an engine to overheat witht he antifreeze flowing out of the external reservior?

Thanks

Just email me at: wickedkin6s44@netzero.net or PM me on INstantmessenger if I'm on. Thanks

can't answer many of your questions, but a spark plug stuck in the motor requires a rebuild. and odds are that plug is stuck forever so they'll have to use a new housing.

This shouldn't cause any permanent problems, it jus won't idle right while it happens. People run all trailing plugs sometimes anyway. Fixing the lines would make it work.

Don't try to get it out yourself. Take it to a machine shop and have them get it out. I had the same type of problem with my car, I ended up going with a full rebuild.

THAT sounds like bad coolant seals.

Looks like you're going to have to rebuild anyway.

U might be able to get the spark plug out. What u do is get some JB weld and a scrap cheater bar. try to weld the JB only to the spark plug and bar. Let dry and you just made a wrench.

That will be $154.23 thank you. have a nice day

Well there might not be enough room for the bar if the engine is in the bay still. so u can JB weld a socket to it.

haha I told him that already haha...

He told me when he bought the car it was already like that so when he replaced the wire and sparkplugs he just did a one for one swap without lookin at the manual or the actual block itself...haha

So if he had to go for a rebuild where should he go with all of this?

THanks guys

In the future, put anti-seize on your plug threads and that won't happen again.
