spark plug wires

is it necessary to buy aftermarket spark plug wires?? Would i want something like that for my daily driver or is it more for racing purposes? I see a set of Re-Amemiya plug wires on ebay and was wondering if it helped out anything

Spark plug wires build up resistance over time. So, yes you would replace them from time to time. I would recommend an aftermarket wire that is 8 mm. Even using them in just a DD (like mine is) the 8 mm wires are going to be more reliable. You don't have to spend a fortune though. There are good 8 mm sets out there. Search for spark plug wires and you will find a lot of discussions. I'm using the mazdatrix wires and they work just fine.

Just buy a Accel V8 Kit from a parts store. This gives you enough wire to make two sets of 8mm wire for less than $50. When you replace them as a maintenance item, this saves some money over time. I noticed no difference when changing from Racing Beat wires.
