spark plug gap sizes

spark plug gap sizes

hi all im gonna change my oil and plugs but dont know the correct gap size for a s5 t2 as i have a jdm and no manual also i was gonna drain the old oil and put some cheap oil in and drain that b4 puttin good oil in. will using a different weight be better 4 flushing out all the old crud?

RX7 spark plugs dont have any gap ...

when you buy them you'll see what im talking about


no gap .. no worries

Stock NGK plugs are gapped at .028, above .035 on the stock coils and ignition typically will result in a loss of power.

Yep RX-7 plugs come pregapped... I got into an arguement with the guy at AutoZone about it once, until he actually pulled them out of the box...

Him----> "Well I'll be damned"

Me------> "lol"

I couldn't see any way to gap them if you know what I mean, expensive *** plugs anyways

you can re-gap the Iridium plugs for the rotary like the NGK and the Denso

the bigger the gap the better lol

You can't re-gap the stock NGK spark plugs. They are multi ground.



The Denso and NGK Iridium plugs can be re-gapped:

Well I have had my RX7 for three years. I knew you couldn't gap the stock ones, there is no way, but I have never seen a Denso or NGK Iridium for my car. Do those plugs really make a difference where it is worth spending all the money for them?

If you're having a problem with excessive unburnt fuel, then they might be an option... The idea behind Iridium plugs is to get the most out of your gas mileage for racing due to the more complete burn... Not recommended for street vehicles...
