Sources of Cabin Fumes and Seal P/N's
Hey guys,
Just recieved my FC on Sunday. After driving the car, I almost immediately noticed that there are exhaust fumes in the cabin while driving, it is most noticable with the windows down while driving and/or while the car is stationary (even with the windows up).
The car has no cats paired with RB Duals.
So far I have inspected the following:
1. There are no exhaust leaks.
2. The spare tire plug was missing, so I made a temporary plug.
3. The hatch weather stripping / seal seems to be intact with no tears.
4. My tail light weather stripping is worn and torn. I tried patching it up temporarily last night with some silicone (just to keep it in place). Tried to find replacements from Mazdamotorsports, but didn't see anything in the stock parts sections.
So my questions are:
1. Does anyone have part numbers for the tail light seals? Can you even buy them anymore?
2. If stock seals are out of the question, what else can be used to substitute?
3. What other places could cause exhaust fumes to leak into the car? I am going to inspect my shifter boots as soon as I have a chance.
After plugging the spare tire hole and patching the tail light stripping, the fumes seemed to have gotten less, but they are still noticable.
Thanks in advance.

Yup, apparantly such a low pressure zone is created by our cars that any opening under the car or around the engine bay. (I.e. windows ) is going to suck exhaust straight in. Welcome to the seven club, start to enjoy smelling like a lawnmower...

**Update**
So found that the shifter boots were all ripped as well. I have brand new tailight seals, shift boots, and a couple other odds and ends on there way already.
So if replacing these items doesn't decrease the fumes as much as I am hoping, what else can be done?
Would lopping off the muffler tips and welding on dolphin tail tips help at all? I seriously am hating the fumes. They start to give me a headache after a while. It's not bad now because I drive with the windows up most of the time since it is colder here in CT, but I prefer driving with the windows down if it is 50 F or higher out.
