somthing not conected on my turbo??

I started to take some parts off my 88 rx7 today for getting the motor out for the swap into my Datsun. I looked at the turbo and i think its for the waste gate there is a little leaver and and a thing that goes on it but its off of it. ill be putting it back on but i want to know if it might of hurt any thing or if someone did this to make more boost or something dumb. here are some shitty pics of it...

The turbine housing is split on the flange, and there is a flap in the manifold that directs exhaust gas only down the one split until a certain RPM. This allows the turbo to spool faster.

Seems like maybe the c-clip fell off so the lever did as well. Attaching it well build the boost faster and has a very noticable difference.

It's on page 4B-53 of the 88 FSM, 4B-5 for vacuum routing. You will need the green solenoid valve for proper operation.
