somethings wrong and I dont know what

3 days ago I left work to go meet some friends at McDs and everything was ok. Sat in the parking lot for a minute or two. Then left to go play in the snow with our cars (I was driving a 89 rx7 gxl NA auto). Backed up too slow and my car died (typical for my car to do). Started it up again and left. One to two minutes in and my stereo's acting funny. Keeps flicking off and on. So I turn it off. Then my lights dim down and volts drop way down. I tell my friend when we get there and we try to jump it (my car dies when I get there). First time we messed up the clamps on my car and on the other car it was fine. Saw big sparks right when it touch so he pulled it back right away. Fixed that problem and charged it. Played for about one to two minutes. Then my volts dropped down again and everything dimmed out. All emergency lights on too. Found out that the room fuse 7.5a blew. I replaced it but still same thing. Instead my inside lights and audio work again. Alternator spins but i guess no charge?! No belts broken or wires melted that we could see. what else could it be?! plz help..I want to take it out and go have some fun..and its my only transportation..

You didn't put the neg. cable on the pos. terminal and the pos. cable on the neg. terminal, did you?

+1 to a bad alt.

HAHAHA.. I have connected a battery to jumper cables backwards like that before. I blew at least four fuses and the MAIN fuse under the hood actually melted and the prongs fused to the fuse box.

Sounds like your Alternator is dead. Here's hoping the room fuse is the only one you blew.

Check the alternator belt while you're at it.

Check to make sure your terminals are clean and the positive cable is tight. My radio would turn off then back on and the headlights would dim a little. Cleaned and tightened up the terminals and I haven't had the problem since.
