Something blew up
i have a s5 na rx7. i was getting a coolant buzzer a few weeks ago, filled it up with just a few ounces of coolant till it was full. I was driving again today and i revved it out, all the sudden the coolant buzzer came on again, smoke came up through the vents inside, there was a massive cloud of smoke behind me that my friend (driving behind me) said had come out of the exhaust pipe. i immediately put the clutch in put it in neutral and slowed down and the idle was very low, like 2-300 barely staying alive. i pull over and shut the car off and its just pissing what looked like oil from underneath the passenger side. i had a friend tow me home and i havent tried to start it since then as i dont want to break it even more. some people are saying its the heater hose, but it looked totally fine when i checked it out. anyone have any clue as to what happened? thank you

update: i topped off the oil and coolant, tried to start it and it cranks but wont turn over. it sounds like it wants to turn over but it wont. it smokes from somewhere in the left side of the engine bay but i can’t find the source. thinking it could be fuel related? but that wouldnt explain the smoking. any suggestions help, thank you

You need to find the source of the leak. It could be as simple as a coolant hose bursting and puking coolant onto the exhaust. Pull the plugs and check to see if they're soaked in coolant. If they are then you will need to rebuild or replace the engine. If you ran the engine low on oil, it would seize up and would not turn over at all. But if the plugs are fouled with coolant, that would explain your crank no start.
