I blew up something

in my never ending quest of improving my rx7.

basicly i was trying to fix any vacuum leaks. i somehow managed to Destory 3 hoses that goes 2 to the dynamic chamber and 1 on the FPR. i also blew up my 80AMP main fuse.. not only that, but the fuse WELDED it'self on the fuse box.

just my luck.

now my car won't start and i have an even more vacuum leak. and i got work I can't drive to.

boy... this bites. more and more work everyday.

Do you not know about the bolts you have to take off to get the fuse out?

The main fuse being blown will keep you from starting your car. Basically, it control's 75% of everything going on.

What do you mean destroy? If they're rubber hoses why can't you just replace them?

yeah its not welded, it is bolted, the holder has knock outs that exspose the bolts. If you shorted out the alt wire that fuse will blow, and that is exacly where it sounds like you were working. Did you short anything out. BTW this is why you disconect the - cable on your batt BEFORE you work on it.

yep. when i pulled off the upper manifold i completely forgot about the one 12mm bolt holding 2 vacuum lines behind the dynamic chamber 5th port. well upon pulling this out i managed to pull it up and with great force the manifold decided to come right back down. and to my surprize it came right back down on the alternator. hehe

damm fuse blew instantly. although i didn't know a bolt holds it onto place. i thought this bolt was somehow ark welded itself on it's roots.

although before i knew that i had the persuade the fuse to come out with great prejudice. i already manage to wire it togeather with some wire so i could at least roll up my windows. im obviously going to have to find a replacement.

i need to find a way to replace the hose i broke putting the manifold back in place without RE pulling out the upper intake manifold again. boy were theses hoeses brittle. i already have a diagram and all. i just don't want to go through the effort. honestly.

just a lil rant here and there. no problem guys, i know my rotary.

Step 1 before ANY work. Disconnect your battery.

Dude, you might as well have used a sledgehammer and ice pick to finesse your way through troubleshooting. Although these cars are getting up in age, there was still some thoughtful engineering used in the assembly. Which means there is always an easier way to uninstall things(just requires a little thought, and logic). Musclephuking the manifold? Not smart.

okay guys im going to need some help..

i don't have a camera or anything. but i found out my vacuum hose leak. that i have been having a problem with. i was taking a look at the diagrams and i couldn't find anything that leads to this hose.

it's under the primary fuel rail. and in the middle of the oil injectors.

there is a vacuum nipple there.. i have no idea where it goes to.. i know it goes someplace. but where i don't know.. anyone has any insight.. i am a lil bit confused as the s4 n/a diagram doesnt show anything about this.

are you talking about the 5-hose connector that the oil injectors connect to? IIRC that runs to the top of 3 holes on the side of the throttle body or UIM (can't remember which one).

under the primary fuel rail. ON TOP of the LIM. it's inbetwen the lines of the oil injectors. i seriously wish i had a camera to show you guys what im looking at.

no i know the 4 oil injectors connect to the top of the Dynamic chamber. it's atop the LIM. it's actually between the lower oil injectors.

i have no idea where this hose connects to.
