Someone should...

Why is there so little aftermarket support for the second gen? If someone had the ***** to start a company that manufactures like 2nd gen body kits, spoilers, tail light/head light kits, ect then they could make a killing if they were all fairly priced. Otherthings that no one else offers could be like chrome or powder coated TIDs, BOVs that fit specifically on the RX7 or whatever else. Anyway, thats all I had to say.

oh god, i'll try not to get too pissed here.

first off. the S5 tailights are the pimpest **** around.

The factory spoiler is sleek, stylish, AND purposeful.

RX-7's come from the factory pretty awesome.... there is little room to improve the looks w/o ruining the heritage of the line.

There are already nice body kits out there from REAmemiya, Kngithsport, etc...

http://www.rx7.com
http://www.rx7store.com
http://www.racingbeat.com
http://www.mariahmotorsports.com
http://www.mazdatrix.com
http://www.mazdaformance.com
http://www.mazdamotorsports.com
ro t or mo to rsp or ts.com (w/o the spaces)

Need more? cuz there are....

the headlights already have the sleepy eye and eastbear kits.

What else do you wanT? altezzas, LED exhaust tips, neon underglow, neon valve stem covers, carbon fiber-LOOK hoods?

There is PLENTY of aftermarket support in the way of performance... these are not civics that need m@d tYtE body kits and spoilers

The TID and is actually a good idea... but there are so few RX-7's out there, it wouldnt be cost effective for a company raking in MILLIONS on honda parts to produce a few things for the RARE Rx-7's out there.

Im not saying I want anything like hondas. I don't have a factory spoiler, and most of the ones I find are all factory looking, or supra style. Also it would be nice if I could just buy a kit that would replace the pop-up headlights with some silver white ones that look like new cars. Same with tails, maybe tails that look like s5 but just made with different materials. Plus all the body kits Ive seen cost a shitload. Anyway, sorry to **** anyone off, I didn't mean that I wanted to make the into a rice mobile

Supra style belongs ON A SUPRA.

The factory spoiler highly accents the car... in fact, the RX-7 is one of those cars that actually looks good w/o a spoiler... nice and clean.

The eastbear kit gets rid of teh popup lights.

The S5 tails are as good as it gets. Anything else would just look out of place on these cars.

I know the body kits can be pricey... but they don't look ricey .

Oh, and the BEST rims I've seen are the ones that kevin of rotary ressurection has in his sig on that black TII

I dunno, I think some of the Enkei's look better than Kevin's, but that's just me. And they do make BOV kits that are for the rx7's, and the corksport bodykit's aren't expensive at all http://www.corksport.com. There are quite a number of headlight mods/kits/etc to chose from, tail lights, series 5 it is, or you can search for boostmotorsports and look at his integra (i think?) tail lights he fabricated in. There's a ton of aftermarket support for these cars!

There's TONNES of aftermarket support for the 2nd gen. All the major manufacturers (Greddy, Apex'I, Fluidyne, Jacobs, MSD, Crane, K&N, Walboro, Black Magic, HKS, etc., etc., etc.) make parts for or that can be used on the 2nd gen. What more do you want? Personally, I'm quite happy that APC makes absolutely nothing for any generation of RX-7.

The simple answer to this question is: VOLUME.
You are not going to be able to produce quality parts with a honda part price tag. There is not enough demand. MFG's deal in units of 1,000's and 10,000; not one hundred. Its simple economics..

for once im gonna second aaron, the afternarket for a 2nd gen is enormous. you just have to open your eyes and look. as stated above the top japanese tuners makes stuff for our cars but there are plenty of others as well. the 2nd gen archive has a 2nd gen vendors list if you want to check that out. we may not have the market of a civic, where we can go to pep boys and buy intakes and wings, etc. but we have a good sized support. hey we could be like the turbo dodge guys. my buddies got a turbo dodge daytona, all of his mods come from a junkyard(from other cars) or from his workbench in the shop(homemade). sucks to be him

There isnt much of an aftermarket for 2dn gens.

Your average 2nd gen owner is spending his money on new apex seals or a fuel cutoof switch.

Theres not nearly enough of a market to justify a large aftermarket because the largest percentage of cars that are modified are owned by younger (16-25) people.

That generation right now pretty much hates the 80s sports cars and wants a honda civic or a prelude or whatnot.

Granted, there are exceptions. THe overall available money 2nd gen owners have for aftermarket parts is just pretty small overall.

See.. theres just not a huge enough demand.

(here in the US anyway where everyone hates the rotary)

Maybe you should make the FC owners drop money like Honda owners do?&nbsp Would you pay $10,000 for a custom turbo engine?&nbsp Do you pay several hundred dollars on "Altezza" lights?&nbsp Would you pay several thousand dollars to repaint your car every other year?&nbsp I thought not...

I've even thought about getting a S5 TII and putting S4 tails on it. it's not like there'd be a shortage of people willing to trade

88 SE, what the F are you talking about. I'm 16 and own a TII. I seriously love that car. seriously. 80's cars are awesome and there is quite a bit of aftermarket parts for the 2nd gen. Let me tell you not all young people want freakin hondas.

It's fine that people like their se7en's the way they are. Personally I want a good body kit that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg.

I want my se7en to be different from everyone else's. It's called being "orignal". That's what sets cars apart from each other.

Sure it would be nice to have a clean TII, but imagine all the other people that already have a clean TII. I guess what I'm trying to get across is that being different ain't that bad.

Who cares if someone wants to rice their car. It ain't your car.

Fuel cut off switch = $15 Cdn. If that's what the average se7en owner can spare to spend on their se7en then I guess there isn't a huge market share for our cars.

Man, there are some Crazy **** for the 2nd gen, boostmotorsport had me flipping though a jap mag to try to find a replacement throtal body for the fc's, It took the 3 flap system and only used to large boar bodies, and it completly eliminated the dynamic chamber

I think that there is a very large aftermarket following for the 2nd gens, its not as prevalent as honda's for example over here, but in japan im guessing its ramped

just my 2cents
