Some SAFC Questions...

I'm planning on getting a SAFC soon, so I wanted to ask a few questions before determining my setup order. First of all, since the FCD tells the car that its still under the boost it should be at, if running higher than stock boost, with a SAFC, will there be any problems with the two overlappingn and causing trouble?

From what i've heard, the FCD basically after it reaches fuel cut, tells the car that its still running a lower boost. This causes it to give the same amount of fuel, but not so low that it will hurt much of anything. Now will I need to put even more fuel via the SAFC to change the fact that it still thinks i'm running at lower boost levels?

Another thing, does a SAFC have to be tuned right out of the box once its put in? Reason being is that I plan on buying a Walbro, SAFC, and RB Turboback at the same time. I'm having it all put in at once, then within the next week i'll be having it dyno tuned. If I left it at the normal settings, but I drove safely without hardly any boosting or anything until I got it really tuned, would I be fine? I'd rather have someone who knows what they are doing tune my car at the dyno, because the SAFC i'll be buying will be the first one i've ever seen, let alone tuned, so I wouldn't know where to begin. Are there a set of settings that would make it safe for me to drive around until I got it professionally tuned?

I'm not an expert with SAFCs or turbos, but I can tell you this.

On your fuel settings, better rich than detonated.
I don't know the exact specifications, but kick your fuel up a notch, esp. in high RPM situations. This should help avoid detonation until proper tuning can be done.

Someone else will probably chime in and tell you the specifics.

The SAFC runs the stock settings until you program it otherwise. So you will be fine driving around until it gets tuned. When you go and get it tuned, they will install a WB02 sensor, and tune the car for a specified A/F ratio throughout the entire RPM range.

Just another quick question. Will rx-7s dyno tune the same as any other car, so anyplace with a dyno and wb could tune it, or will I need someone that knows rotaries?

Its all the same. Have a specified A/F ratio that you will want to tune to, and you can lean/richen the mixture accordingly though the S-AFC.

Kevin (RarestRX) runs around 13.0 on his GTUs N/A. I'm not sure what most turbos run.
14.7 is the universal ideal for combustion I believe.
