Some Advice Please...
i have just purchased a 86 RX7 GXL (without an engine, trans, radiator) the car is in excelent condition as far as the body goes and the interior is perfect... i want to do a turbo II swap but im not sure what to buy first so if anyone can help me decide how to spend $3000.00 that would be a big help....
Thanx,

Rotary Resurrection is selling a complete S4 TII swap right now in the for sale forum. Not sure if the last one is sold yet or not, but as of a few days ago there was one left.

It's easiest to swap a S4 TII engine into a S4 car. A S5 TII engine can be swapped into a S4 car... but from what I've seen/heard, it's hard work.
The TII swap I have been doing has been taking forever. Mostly waiting for parts... and spent well over $3,000.00
Oh and yeah, your 1987 GXL is a Series 4.

Here is what I bought... forgot to add in I am swapping the TII drivetrain too. (yes, I am doing the work.)
- JDM S4 TII engine w/ECU, wiring harness, and tranny
- Koyo radiator
- starter
- TII LSD
- TII CV half shafts
- TII driveshaft
- TII AFM
- Racing Beat REV TII exhaust system
- Walbro 255LPH fuel pump
- Two 550cc Denso injectors
- Two 720cc Denso injectors
- boost guage
- all fluids for swap (engine oil, diff. oil, etc..)
Still need to get a SAF-C and there are some other small parts here and there.
Now that I think of it... you may be able to do it for $3K I bought some pricey parts and others I got pretty good deals on. Plus, I bought some parts that needed to be replaced. You may not have to replace so many parts. Anyway, go for it... it's been fun so far.

Here is one for 1300 bucks with everything still there including tranny. Problem I have seen with JDM engine importers, they do not warranty at all the Rotary engines. I dont know why, I assume beccause they do not know how to do a compression test on them or what. Google will help, but Im sure someone here can point you in the right direction also.
