solid engine mounts, how bad is the vibration?

The search wasn't working and im impateint. i'm sure it's been asked before but how bad is the vibration with solid mounts. My factory mounts are a little squishy and the motor already shakes like a big block with a pretty huge cam. I just dont want it to be unbearably rough. any thoughts?

It's not too bad for me. But, I don't drive mine everyday. The mounts aren't hard to change, get a couple lengths of 2x4, drill a hole in them and try it out. If you can live with the vibration go buy some solid mounts.

actually, if you like the pieces of 2x4 in there, just use them!

that's what I'm using for mounts this year..... my car is somewhere around the 300hp range...

if your motor shakes that much, there is something wrong. my advice is to try and find some eurathane replacements. the're stiffer than stock but the vibration wont send you to another plain of existance.

I went for a ride in a friends 7 with solid mounts...
It was a little rough starting out from light to light but cruising wasn't bad.

I daily drive my GTUs with mazda competition mounts. The difference is undetectable over any aftermarket shock/spring setup. Go for it.

Thanks for the responses. I'm getting a weird feel out of the shifter in a few gears and figured the mounts may be a good start, and have other benifits as well. I will say, never in a million years would i have thought of hockey pucks. I'm curious how that turns out. theyre pretty hard, anyone know what there made of?

It dosent seem like the vibration is real bad, i've got solid mount in my chevy monza and the v8 makes **** rattle that isn't loose. I think i'll go semi solid in the 7 seems like everyone has nothing too bad to say about mazda comp. mounts. thanks agian

some, if not all, hockey pucks have a metal center with a rubber covering. which would kinda defeat the purpose, since once drilled and so forth, itd be just like a solid mount. there may be hockey pucks that are all rubber tho, im not sure. (i dont play hockey, i play cars)
