So..interesting problem
So I just got my new 88 7 last week, and I noticed the heater logicon didn't fully work, so I took it out, took it apart, and found out there was a chunk of the logic board broke/missing...hmm...could be a good reason!
So I got one from my brother, and I notice that the one he sent me has a pigtail along with the 2 female plugs on the back of it. So I look all inside the radio/logicon area and can't find anywhere to plug the pig tail in....so I got curious. I took the panel off below the glove box, and see all the plumping and whollla! A plug that looks identical to the pigtail on the logicon, so I plug it in and I hear CLICK click, CLICK click....WTF??? I start looking and come to find out, my 4 ways are kicking in when I plug this thing in.
Anyone have ANY ideas? I'm lost......

There is a small connector that goes to the logicon.
the other is a patch harness that leads to the Firewall.Inside the car.inside the dash area, and is kind of hard to get at.
It can be accessed if you take the top flat plate with the defrosting vents off the top of the dash. The whole Thing, not just that little square plastic thing in the middle of the two long windshield defroster vents.,

So i need to take out the defroster vents to plug in the heater control logicon? Doesn't seem like the pigtail is that long but all i can do is take a look, hopefully it will work cause i would love some heat on the chilly mornings we're getting here

The big flat metal part that holds the long plastic BRITTLE vents in is what you have to pop off the top of the dash to get to it.
HERE is a pic showing the connector that I just took.
First pic is kind of bad,(through the windshield shot)showing the dash plate removed and the wiring "half assed showing"
The next is the connector itself by the heater distribution box(or whatever the hell it is called!)

Dude, those vents are 40 bucks each..
It's better to get that little square piece off in between the vents and get a 1/4 inch socket and undo the bolt on it and pop the whole she-bang off.You will NOT have room to reach your hand in and connect the wires IF you just pop the plastic vents..
Trust me.My hands are small and I had a rough time getting it.
Once you do get at it though( if you ever remove the dash, break that connector off the car,and let it hang..it's easier to get at,again.
