Don't think you can. But if I remember right, Advance Auto Parts has them for about $130.

They pretty much wear out and are not rebuildable.

However I have been playing with Ford and Nippondenso ones to see if a $15 one can be adapted for use on a FC.

 

I think I have a new one that was once installed on a throttle body that never got put on a car if you want it, $100... I had purchased it while rebuilding my motor but bought individual throttles and haltech before ever putting the stock stuff back on the motor. I'd have to go look through my boxes to find it though.

 

I have "milked some life" out of them by using electronic parts cleaner in them spraying down into the plungers and drying them out with compressed air. This is only a band-aid though, as I now need a new one.

if you made the bracket to fit this TPS you could make a nice chunk of change!
or whatever the procces is to fit them onto the FC.

 

Yeah, I have both the Ford and Toyota ones in, I just have to figure out a adjustable mount for them.

The nice thing is that they are linear round, rather than the plunger style

 

Do you have an estimated time of when you might have a write-up or something available? I'd love a $15 TPS that I knew worked.

 

Just have not had a lot of time. Just this week I have had over 25 wiper switch rebuilds alone, and probably a couple dozen other just FC parts.

And that doesn't include the half dozen BMW gauge clusters and the 3 Lexus gauge panels that came in last week. Each of those are probably 3 hours... so I just have been too busy to work on my own cars. Maybe this weekend after i get the struts changed in the Lexus

 

Ok, new rule. Until Icemark gets this done, nobody send him stuff to fix.

Seriously though, 25 wiper switches so far this week. Damn, that's alot... Apparently ever 2nd gen owner except me has sent one in.

 

FWIW:
The plunger part is the same on all 2nd gens.
You can swap plugs & brackets to adapt them to different TB's.

The AFM will also eventually wear out.

If thay are not too far gone, I have had good luck with CRC brand contact cleaner labeled "2-26" from The Home Depot electrical department.

 

Nah, only about 6 of those were regular orders, most were from dealers. Dealers usually send 5-10 each time. There are a half dozen companies that sell my rebuilt FC wiper and headlight switches on the internet or at their brick and morter stores and another dozen actual Mazda or BMW or Lexus car dealers that their parts departments use my services.

 

There's a write up by stevej88na being made on how to switch the AFM to a MAF.

 

What all do you do on those gauge panels? Also, with your expertise, can you fix the intermittent tach issue for the FD?

Any thoughts on using a hall effect sensor as a replacement, Icemark?

 

Hall effect usually doesn't work for variable resistance circuits.

 

That would explain my difficulty in finding information on hall effect linear potentiometers.

 

Mark, Any progress on this? Is nippon denso an active company? If so, how possible would it be to contact them about getting the plungers themselves? In the right volumes, I'm sure we could get the price down.

Oh. and if you don't have time.. people can send their wiper switches to ME to fix. Its an easy repair, and I could use the money for RX-7 parts.
