Smoking E-brake Cable????
Ok so i hooked up a battery to my car to test some **** and my ebrake cable started smoking. It was smoking in the right rear. Any idea why it would do this????
it sound like a ground loop problem.. you may have a loose ground somewhere and power is trying to run through the ebrake cable causing it to get hot. do you have a rear mounted battery with the ground lead connected to the shock tower at the strut bolts? if so make sure the connection does not have paint under it..
What he said !! also if you have not disconecxted it do so.
Also if its doing that Id say you also have a fuse issue. If your getting a short one of your fuses should of blown if installed right.
