my car smokes at idle at all times. im pretty sure its from the turbo because there seems to be more shaft play than usual. the turbo still boosts fine though, just laggy.

heres the part that confuses me. if i hold my engine rpm at 2k or higher there wont be any smoke.

so am i right about it being the turbo? or do i hve a more serious problem? the engine was rebuilt and porting by banzai racing about 7k miles ago give or take some.

 

well just a obvious thing fairly sure its not this but it has happened ....when you did the oil change last did you make sure the oil filter was primed? i work for NTB and that has happened before with the smoke

 

to tell you the truth im not sure at all. how do you prime the oil filter?

 

ok i just realized that when my oil pressure drops, my car smokes. that makes sense as to why the 2k+ rpm would make it quit. so any ideas what the problem is??

 

anybody? come on. i really need to get this fixed ASAP

 

can anybody tell me what oil pressure is supposed to be at at idle? mine seems to read 15 lbs
