Question slow start..what could this be?????

so i notice when i drive my car now it has a very slow start....like the engine revs and the rpms go up but the car doesnt pick up too quick....now im thinkin maybe this could be my brakes....cuz i havnt changed them in the year 1/2 that i've had my fc...i mean was in storage for winters....and last summer lisence was suspended.....

cuz i also notice that at red lights n anytime i stop...and car is on a slight incline it doesnt roll like it should when foot is not on brake pedal......

...so its almsot as if it seems that the pads arnt releasing far enough from the rotors.....

it really sucks cuz when i put it in 1st and go it takes off like really slow like cars be passin me n ****......i mean i can drive quick but its just got an incredible slow lift off...anybody have any ideas what this could be???

Maybe the clutch is slipping.

If the breaks were slowing you down the revs would slow down too, the only reason your rpms would rise normally but not your speed would be the clutch slipping.

How long has it been since you've given the car a tune up?

oh **** i bet ur right....haha cuz the other day this dude i met who has a 1st gen. rx7 told me that my clutch fluid is way too dirty and that i should empty it out and fill up with clean new dot 3 brake fluid........ha i actually just got back from the aprt store to get brake fluid to do this.....now tune-up wise i just got new spark plugs and spark plug wires, and did an oil change and cleaned the k&n filter.....but i havnt done any other fluids....tranny,clutch,brake, etc

id bet on clutch, but a good brake job would never hurt. jack the car up and see if the tire spins that should tel you something
