Slow boost?

Question Slow boost?
I have an 87' TII 2 1/2" DP 2 1/2" MP And stock Catback Bonez intake and my question is: Why will my car boost rarely? It idles fine, starts fine, its even a new engine from Atkins Rotary. Will the stock catback slow boost response?? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
