a six puck and a four puck
im trying to figure out weather i should buy a six or a four puck disc . i wanted to know wich one would work better on a new stock pressure plate and the differances.
i have an act 6puck with the act HD pressure plate... some people say this setup is undrivable in daily situations, but after about a week, i wouldnt drive anything else. traffic or not.
basically pick your clutch due to what your going to use the car for. i drag and i will be auto-xing soon so i picked a very hard clutch. if you drive on the street a lot, id reccomend the act street/strip clutch disc. its a lot more 'giving' than the race discs.
id also try to steer you away from centerforce...

The six puck will be less of an on/off switch compared to the four. Get a disc with springs in it to lesson the shock load on the tranny, it's the weakest link in the driveline. As for centerforce clutches, I have one in a daily driver and its been fine. I had one come apart in a racecar, all the friction material came off of one side of the disc after a couple events. They replaced it free though, whoopee! we run a Tilton dual disc now.
I have a six-puck unsprung on the stock pressure plate. Only when the weather is wierd does the car shudder. You just have to rev a little bit more to start the car off, kinda like an RX-8. Works just fine on the street and whoops *** for clutch-kicking.

HOW MUCH POWER ARE YOU MAKING?
Stick with the organic, full-faced clutch discs.

you give me hope, but a question, i just put the same set up as you in and have been having trouble bleeding the clutch line, i think, how heavy is your clutch pedal? i can pump mine all day and it will only get a little bit stiffer, right now it doesnt feel much stiffer then my crx's clutch
Im with sleejay, I got a act 6 puck with hd disk and will never go back. After i put in my hd plate my hydralics went out and i tried using the rebuild kits but they only lasted for a week or two. You may have to replace your master and slave cylinder like i did.

can someone tell me the measurements of the 2nd gen clutch line?
and if a 3rd gen SS clutch line would work on a 2nd gen?
