get an Rtek 2.1 it has full timing control, and you work off of the stock map.

you're going to have a lot of trouble controlling those injectors.

Full standalone. Seriously. Don't even waste time and effort on anything else for this combination. You'll go round and round in circles, then end up with a standalone.

Just look around at what everyone else is using. Most common standalones around here are Microtech, Haltech, Megasquirt and Apex'i PFC. There aren't really that many great piggy backs. Most common piggyback you'll see is the SAFC but that doesn't have any ignition control, greddy e-manage might be a good choice but there's almost zero support for that around here, I have seen maybe one ore two people using them. You could try an HKS PFC Fcon, but again, same problem as the e-manage, not many people use it so you'd be on your own learning.

There are three different processors for Megasquirt. Each coming out as the system evolves. Starting with MS1 and ending at the current MS3.

Common 550's during idle. Are you running rich or lean at IDLE? How do you know your rich or lean, at idle?

Did this car have a variable resistor for the idle mixture? If so, then adjust it one way then the other to see if it helps. What year car?

I'd never mess with the timing for an idle problem. Makes no sense to me to do that.
