it depends on what you want, you can run sequential and have alot more power faster or run not seq but more top end. but if you can go with a fatass single turbo then do that all depends on what u want

FD turbos are the same size! They are both Hitachi HT-12s. The Cosmo 13B-REW came with twin HT-10 turbos. The Cosmo 20B was the only one with different-sized turbos; it had an HT-12 and a larger HT-15. Note that one turbo runs at low RPMs and then both turbos are "on" at high RPM, so it isn't a switch from a small primary turbo to a large secondary turbo, as is a common misconception.

I don't know anything about putting an FD engine (13B-REW w/HT-12 turbos) in FCs, but if it is easy to find the engines and cheap to install them in an FC (neither of which is likely true) it might be worth going that route.

More likely, you'd be better off running a single turbo. A small single turbo (T04E, RX6, etc.) spools very nearly as well as the stock twins on the FD and can make about the same peak power. In other words, unless you have a 13B-REW from an FD just sitting around doing nothing, you are probably better off with a single.

^ i heard that the twin setup will fit in but it is very hard to have them work properly i was going to do the re swap bc i was supposed to get a t2 that needed a engine but the deal fell through now im looking for a t2 again and if it needs a engine i will do the re swap but if the engine isnt blown i will wait until it blows then do the swap

The stock Mazda twin-turbo set-up fits in LHD FC's but sequential operation is impossible without the stock FD/JC ECU. You have to run them in parallel, but that's okay. Given the relatively small size of these turbos, and the huge expense involved in repairing or upgrading them, they're not really worth it unless you get them real cheap, and you aren't aiming for huge power numbers, and you can do most or all of the work yourself.

no the 13b-rew is insanly hard to get to fit, the 13b-re is a jspec only engine and fits with relative ease. just needs new motor mounts.

so why is there so much hype about the 13b-re?? if it cannot run both turbos at the same time, is it just that it can handle higher hp numbers

All of this has been covered multiple times over the past month. A search will turn it up. There is also a 20B section on this forum, and an "other engines" section. Nothing new here, and unless there is something unique posted that is not already covered by the 1000+ threads that are about this, then this thread is done.

Because the FD/JC 13B-REW is a much better engine than the FC 13BT. It was redesigned in many areas that make it capable of producing more power reliably. It's not about the turbos. For more info, read this.
