Single exit muffler options

First and foremost; my car will be a track *****. I really don't care about noise or the way it looks. Function is a much-much higher priority than form. I know its going to be stupid loud and I'm prepared to purchase the proper amount of Advil to dull the pain...

I need a single-exit exhaust (weight) and it will fab'd at a local shop. While checking out the Stickies, I came across something that said 'No Glasspacks' and '...the heat will destroy cheap mufflers...'.

So what I'm asking is what is a reliable (read: it won't blow out/start on fire/fall apart after a season) muffler that is a straight thru design? The cheaper the better. I was thinking something along the lines of a Dynomax bullet or a Magnaflow. Uglier the better! I'm not a fan of the JDM stuff b/c I think I'd be paying for packaging and a brand stamp on the side.

Does anyone have experience with these or any other OTC non-blingy muffler for a single exit exhaust? If so, what size tubing was used and what was your overall experience with the new muffler?

The car is a stock port S5 N/A, with no cats or pre-silencer.

I have the corksport 80mm turbo back exhaust on my 87 TII and it flows like crazy but loud as hell.
I like it except it's stupid loud.
I just ordered a Apexi exhaust control valve to quite it down on the fly.
